About O2

O2 was founded in Columbus, Ohio back in 2014 by a CrossFit® trainer and a medical doctor who had one goal in mind -- create a better alternative to the unhealthy sports drinks available on the market. Being active and health conscious themselves, co-founders trainer Dave and doctor Dan realized there were no healthy or great tasting sports drinks that aided them in the crucial post-workout phase, so they set out to create one themselves.

THE RESEARCH

At the time, Dr. Dan Kim uncovered research behind the role of ingested oxygen in recovery, particularly the role super oxygenated liquids have on your liver’s processing power. He found studies that showed a 60% increase in your liver’s ability to process toxins with the ingestion of oxygen, meaning your liver (your body’s largest organ) gets a boost from the added oxygen to carry out all of it’s crucial functions in the body -- like breaking down the proteins, fats and carbs you consume, and processing harmful toxins we encounter in day to day life.

“He found studies that showed a 60% increase in your liver’s ability to process toxins with the ingestion of oxygen.”

THE RESULT

With this science backed evidence, Dave and Dan knew they were onto something. They set out to create a ground-breaking one-of-a-kind recovery drink with only clean ingredients, electrolytes, natural caffeine, and added oxygen to help athletes recover faster and be the best version of themselves. The result? O2 Sports Recovery. A great tasting drink for faster workout recovery that's now sold over 1 million cans across
the United States.

Team O2

We’re a team of athletes, weekend warriors, and health nuts. We’re veterans, parents, and coaches. We’re yogis, hockey players, and boxers. We’re woodworkers, bakers and make-up artists. What unites us is our values. We’re always striving to be the best we can be and we know that starts with what fuels us.

Meet the crew serious about helping you recover faster.

As a mom of two young kids, my recovery tool of choice is: sleep! I bleed Michigan blue despite living in ohio. (Lack of capitalization was intentional). I played collegiate soccer and am the Minnetonka yard games league champion circa 2013. It’s those critical skills that got me hired at O2.

Brittany

Fitness Sales Director

My preferred method of recovery is running with my baby girl and dogs! I do CrossFit, but you'd never know it because CrossFitters are so shy about that kind of stuff ;) I love sweet potatoes, ice cream, and tacos (#Tuesday).

Gabby

Fitness Sales Associate

My preferred recovery method? Hydration and sleep! I'm all about the beast coast, growing up in NY and residing in Boston. I've completed the Spartan Race trifecta (google it!) and I back squat more than most the guys on the team. I love quoting movies and TV shows in conversation, regardless of relevance.

Fitness Sales Associate

Recovery tools of choice: bodywork, nutrition, sleep!I grew up in the land of 10,000 lakes where I competed as a Collegiate Cross Country skier. I've taken that thirst for competition and channeled it more recently intro CrossFit. My secret talent is driving stick shift while jamming OG Taylor Swift in Atlanta traffic.

Teena

Field Sales Manager

My recovery routine: sauna, stretching, sleep! I call Atlanta home and am the resident yogi of O2! I'm a dog mom that loves korean BBQ and misses my Lisa Frank binders. Did I mention I'm a professional makeup artist? The beauty kind! Not the Hollywood turn you into a Star Wars character kind.

Andrew

Key Account Activation Manager

My recovery formula is pretty simple: protein + carbs + O2. I'm an Ohioan, born and bred. I played collegiate hockey as a goalie and I won the Mr. Sexy Legs contest on a cruise once. Coincidence? When I'm not being objectified on cruises, I love reading and podcasts.

Sarah

Operations and Fulfillment Manager

My recovery modalities of choice: restorative yoga and sleep! I'm a Marine Corps Vet living in Northern Virginia and ama CrossFitter, a yogi, and a mom. The first two give me the physical capacity to survive the third. When I'm not chasing my toddler or in the gym, I love to bake.

Derek

Operations Associate

My recovery tools include cigars, tequila, and a Sidekick (graston tool, not the cellphone) Also, fun fact: I don’t have a uvula, but that hasn't stopped me from getting into Crossfit, martial arts, strongman, or bodybuilding. Outside of crushing myself at the gym, I enjoy woodwork and welding.

Marie

Graphic Designer

My recovery tool of choice? Yoga and O2!. I'm a Kansas City native living in Austin, TX. I'm a cat mom that enjoys yoga and I have a weird talent for getting kitchen appliances as gifts. Something about me screams mixer? Also, I was scarred by a fiery marshmallow as a child.

Eric

VP of Marketing

My recovery practice: journaling! I'm a proud Texan, and the Fresh Prince informs my life. When I'm not getting crushed by my teammates in the gym, I'm getting choked out at jiu jitsu or stomped on by my toddler. Also, I know guacamole is extra.

Dan

Digital Growth Manager

My preferred recovery method: BCAA's, O2, and a good meal! I'm a native Bostonian living in Connecticut and the proud dad of a toddler. When I'm not climbing over toys, I enjoy lifting and climbing obstacles in Spartan races. I'm a Navy vet and aspiring youth soccer coach.

Dave

Founder & CEO

My recovery practice involves lots of yoga, O2, and sleep! I’m an Ohio State Buckeye through and through, and my passion for all things O2 is rivaled only by my passion for punishment (i.e., growth!). That comes in the form of a CrossFit L1, a Krav Maga blackbelt, and the journey of entrepreneurship...and sometimes the rollercoaster of emotion associated with Buckeye football.
